Hi there!

I'm Carlia, the heart and soul behind Welcome to Wellbeing, where I proudly serve as the Founder, an Intuitive Eating Counsellor, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician and a Non-Diet Dietitian.

I have over a decade of experience in providing 1:1 nutrition counselling to women experiencing challenges related to food, body image concerns, and eating disorders. I’m a kind, empathetic and caring clinician with a passion for empowering women to embrace their authentic selves by nurturing a compassionate relationship with food, body, and self.

At Welcome to Wellbeing, our compassionate team of Dietitians, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinicians, and Intuitive Eating Counsellors provide inclusive nutrition counselling for women experiencing food, eating, and body image concerns. We provide a Body Inclusive, Trauma Informed, Non-Diet Approach and adopt a Health at Every Size® framework. This means we celebrate body diversity, acknowledge the impact of trauma, promote intuitive and mindful eating principles, and embrace a holistic view of your health and wellbeing.

Why does size inclusive care matter to you, and what can someone expect when working with you?

Size-inclusive care matters to me because every person deserves access to compassionate, respectful healthcare regardless of body size. Many people have experienced shame, stigma, or dismissal in health settings due to weight, which can make seeking support around food, eating, and health incredibly difficult. My work is grounded in a non-diet, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming approach where the focus is on supporting individuals to build a more peaceful and trusting relationship with food, their body, and themselves. When someone works with me, they can expect a safe and collaborative space where their lived experience is honoured and where we focus on sustainable, supportive practices that promote wellbeing, nourishment, and self-care.

What considerations do you make to ensure your practice is inclusive?

Creating an inclusive practice means intentionally designing a space where people feel safe, respected, and welcomed. I practice from a weight-neutral framework and actively work to reduce stigma and judgement in conversations about health, food, and body image. I also integrate trauma-informed and neuroaffirming care, recognising that people’s relationships with food and their bodies are shaped by many different experiences and identities. I prioritise collaborative care, listen carefully to each individual’s goals and needs, and work at a pace that feels supportive and safe for them.
