To be
eligible for HAES Australia Verified Provider membership, applicants must meet
the following requirements:
You are committed to
evidence-based practice and use an exclusively weight-inclusive and weight-neutral approach in practice, aligned with the principles of HAES.
You are a health practitioner who practices in an area of health and/or fitness where a person may experience size discrimination or weight bias and hold current registration with an Australian professional board or association. See list of HAES Verified Provider
professions.
You have completed at least 16 hours of HAES foundational training within
the last 5 years. See list of HAES Fundamentals training.
You have been practicing weight-inclusive and weight-neutral care for a minimum
of 1 year (referee provided) or have a HAES Australia Verified Provider mentor/supervisor.
You have assessed that all of your advertising, marketing and social
media is aligned with HAES principles. Download the HAES Principles for Marketing Rubric.
You complete eight hours of HAES specific continuing professional development (CPD) each membership year. See list of HAES CPD.
Where
applicants are suitably qualified but have not meet all the
requirements to be a HAES verified provider, general membership will be
provided. The application can be reviewed once within the membership
year when the applicant has met requirements. HAES Australia reserves
the right to deny membership or withdraw membership at the discretion of
the management committee.
Current HAES Verified Provider members have
organisational voting rights and are eligible for management committee
positions. All HAES Australia membership requires acceptance of HAES
Australia’s privacy policy and HAES Australia’s code of conduct.
